I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX741. Due to a bad system file I had to use the recovery cd's that came with it. Well, it didn't work. It runs through partitioning the drive and then when it is reinstalling it tells me it cannot continue due to "Incompatible Image In Use." Any ideas on what I could do? (I know the recovery disks are good because I've used them before with no problems.)
The options I used on the recovery disks included repartioning and formating the drive before reinstalling. In fact, I've tried every available option the disk provides for reinstallation but it's still no go.
I've even put the HD in two other compters and it ran fine. Using the other computers, I repartioned and formated the drive and still get the same error when I put it back in the original compter and try to reinstall.

I got this problem too today. After I installed a software, my sony laptop is totally down. Then I used that system restore CD to restore the system. Imcompatible image in use was appearing during installing. Then installation failed. That would be great to let me know what is going on if you solve it.
