Comment:

Everytime I move files on my system and, then, undo (ctrl+z) the move, the files get corrupted: The files are not moved back to their original location as they should and, subsequently, I cannot access the files (Access Denied! error). This means that I cannot open/delete/move/edit the files at all - even after rebooting the system.

I have tried chkdsk'ing the hard drives.

Somebody, please help!

are you transfering program files from one partition to another? Is that what you are doing?
If it is you are destroying the original paths to that file and when you try to undo the move the files are lost because it does not know where to go anymore. In order to do that you should use a transfer wizard to protect the integrity of the files. Just dragging and dropping willnot cut it.
You must "Send To" the new location either by copying the program first or sending the whole program. Dragging and dropping will allow you to send part of the program.

I am not moving program files, but media files, movies (AVIs) and music files , and others. I move them accross partitions and hard drives, and even within the same partition. Just moving the files from any location in the hard drives to another, in the hard drives.

This issue has occured several times.

Hi Merkury,

Scandisk is better than chkdsk; but not much.

It may be worth a more seroius check on the HD file structure.
