I have windows XP Professional edition and i have updated the OS with the last patches from Microsoft site. My configuration: CPU iNTEL 850 Mhz, 256 MB RAM 133, Motherboard ASUS, Geforce Creative 256, Sound Blaster Live!, External Modem 56K.
The problem occurs when I restart the OS, the system shut down itself correctly but when it goes up again, it freezes at the logon shell: i see my user profiles but I can't move the mouse or use the keyboard, all is blocked. When I shutdown the computer and I start manually the system the problem doesn't exist. Someone can help me?

I have learned to NOT install every Windows update patch. Some can mess up your computer. You might try updating the nVidia driver for your video card. [www.nvidia.com] However, I know that I had to roll back my driver after installing XP Detonater 29.42, so beware. Otherwise, I fear re-installing Win XP is all that will clear up your startup problems.
