i built a new computer and have the old computer hard drive accessible with an external USB enclosure. Im trying to import my outlook messages from the old drive (the OS was windows 98SE). I have located the inbox dbx file but when i try to bring it into outlook express 6, I get a message that says it cant find the files. Please help

You might find it easier just to let OE do the importing. On your 'new' OE, chose file then import. YOu will be asked the location of your old OE and you can chose to import just the address book or all your messages

John,
Are you trying to import them or are you trying to move the file(s) in Explorer?
I've done this by overwriting the dbx files in my Outlook Express folder. I found the "import" feature in OE6 didn't always work.
The only problem with this is you'll lose any messages on your new pc you may already have. I've gotten around this by forwarding them to my Yahoo email, and later forwarding them back.
You can "import" the same way with your address book with wab files. Just search your hard drive to find the location.
