Whenever I attempt to copy files to a CD I get an Image Mastering API error and cannot continue. What should I do?

Additional info. Just today I tried to copy to a CD and got the error. However, about 2 months ago I copied several CD's with no error. So it must have been alright then. I backup my files with Carbonte so I could go back about 2 1/2 months recover the file(s) if I knew which one(s).
Or if the file (s) were installed by Nero I could reinstall Nero. What do you think?

Are you copying a complete CD or writing files to a CDR?

I have a couple more questions. Does it only fail when you are using your backup program? Do you get the same failure when you copy files with My Computer?

I updated the IMAPI to version 2. That got rid of the error.
