Hi I want to create bootable image off my hard drive and put it onto cd so then I can restore it any time I like

either of those is good. I prefer Acronis, usually $30 from www.newegg.com

Yes, True Image will suite you. You may image you drive or the system partition only and save the backup to any storage (the same HDD, external hard drive, CDs, DVDs..).

If you want to be able to restore the image at any moment even if the system crashes, you'd better to create the special bootable Cd (called Acronis Rescue CD, can be created using TI option "Create the rescue CD" in the main application window).

If you want to restore your failed system, you can just boot from the CD that will load the complete version of ATI and you may start recovery process.
