Does anyone know of a good piece of software that will do batch processing to reduce a set of pictures to all the same width or height? For example a large group of digital pics taken with a digital camera to be converted to a good size for the web.

Possibly Jasc's Paint Shop Pro. Version 8.1 can batch process scripts. While I have not used its script feature yet, it may be possible to record an image resize to script then batch process the script, which PSP can do. Jasc offers a free trial download.
