I'm still crying I did all that Scott expanded all the files and cleaned them out...thank you, i've ordered my SP2 disc too. The weird thing is that the most affected pages are ebay. Other sites still sometimes show as cannot open this page but it is mostly ebay and it has slowed down increasingly over the last couple of weeks. On another computer it is fine. I keep getting the cannot display page on other sites too...just had it here checked with spydoctor, spybot, stinger, avg and now housecall nothing is showing... there has to be something wrong...it has never done this before!! One weird thing in the temp files was Perflib Perfdat files.. 2 of them and they won't delete and nothing else beyond them will delete either. Is that significant? Oh I am SOOOO grateful to all of you and SOOOOOOO lost!!!!

Perflib Perfdat sound like WordPerfect files. Do you have WordPerfect on your system? When you are deleting a bunch of files, Windows Explorer stops as soon as it encounters a file it cannot delete, instead of ignoring it on getting on with the rest. Try deleting the other files and leaving Perflib and Perfdat out of it. Stuart

Try an on-line spyware scan here On-line Spyware Scan It may find things that the others miss. Good Luck It's hard to do a good job When you have a monkey on your back

This seems to be a recently reported common problem Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and rename the HOSTS file to HOSTS.OLD. Shutdown and reboot. You should not be blocked from ebay now.
