i have a compaq presario 6010us computer.im running winxp home ed. its 6 months old.i love it,but i cant find any info on who made the mobo.it is a 1.4 ghz amd athlon xp.the only part number that comes close to any thing ive research is compaq pn # 261671-001.i need a manual for this board.ive contacted compaq computers they say no problem we'll send it to you .but they just send a computer manual .ive got em plus the two they sent me.if whoever reads this if you need more info just e-mail me.im not having any problems with this unit. i just need a manual .kinda like having a ford or chevy engine i wanna knowwhat the torque and engine specs are. if you can help me out i'll dance at yall's next wedding. thank you very much everybody

U wont find any info about your motherbard at Compaq, because a compaq computer usually got an OEM-motherboard.U will only get a partnumber. But try this:
http://www29.compaq.com/falco/sp_result.asp?Model=3918&Os=117

search for belarc advisor. it will run a system check and tell you the mb manuf. and model #, among other things
cya

Mobo cop might help, belarc will give you some info also but neither will tell you what kind of mobo you have.
Unless of course your one of the few who have a real motherboard. I know dell does this sometimes. They use a real mobo instead of just the parts.
My HP has an asus mobo. CUV-NT something or other. No manual exists and the only reference to it ive ever seen is other people looking for the information.
OEM pc builders get a box full of chips and slots and assemble there own motherboards among other things. This is why the info is so hard to come by.

thank you response #4 i've been through 1 2 3 weeks ago and i just keep hitting dead ends .thanks for the help
