I have installed IIS, then visual studio.net, then mobile internet toolkit... Everything was fine. When I typed "http://localhost", a nice screen was popping up to demonstrate that my IIS is working. Now, when I type "http://localhost" it gives http 404 not found error. Besides, strange things started to happen.

For example, my computer freezes when I try to run an application and when I press ctrl-alt-delete and end "inetinfo.exe", the application is unfrozen! But then, I see "inetinfo.exe" again in the list. It keeps re-running itself.

I am worried about some sort of worm or virus, I checked my system but nothing was found.

inetinfo.exe is not a worm or a virus. It's the IIS debugging program. It won't let you end it because it is needed by the system to run IIS.

That's interesting though that it would be causing an error. Not sure what exactly might be causing that. Might have to try uninstalling and reinstalling IIS.
