Hi guys I'd appreciate your help on this one. I've run AVG, done Housecall scanner, PestPatrol, Spybot, SpyCopy, Anti Key Logger trying to figure out what is going on here. Whenever I leave my computer for any good length of time and return to it I often find a string of letters like iiiiiiiiii or jjjjjjjuuuuu or other some other string of letters appear in whatever application I am running. For example the address/URL bar of Internet Explorer 6, Microsoft Front Page 98 or any word processing program I have running on top (TextPad, Microsoft Word 7). Yesterday I came back from a half hour break to find the HTML page I had open double spaced about eight lines down! I have a cable Internet connection and I also have Zone Alarm installed on my machine and I turn the "Internet Lock" on whenever I leave my machine for any length of time. Could this be a macro virus or worm? Please help. :)

You may want to try searching the registry for a key that contains "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii". I have seen a virus create a similar key before.
Also check your profile and see if there are any weird applications in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup directory. Sometimes a registry key will fire off the application located in this directory whenever a user logs in.

Hope that helps and good luck

It might be part of the voice recognition system. Go into your audio mixer and mute the microphone or turn of voice recognition

Sounds to me like your keyboard is starting to go a little nutty... have you made sure it's pluged in all the way?

If you can, try a new keyboard and see if it happens with that too.

TK.
