No you do not loose any data

At DOS promt type CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS then follow prompts.

It does add more security but I wouldnt say it made it that much faster.

Hello, It will become somewhat faster and you will be more secure because you can apply permissions for your files and folders however you will not be able to play games if you convert to NTFS. Just a word of caution.

Can't play games with NTFS??????? thats a new one on me...I have winxp pro on two pc's both formatted using NTFS and all my games new and old are fine...if u can't run games then i would suggest the problem lies somwhere else and not with NTFS.

I recently converted to NTFS from FAT32 believing that all problems were sorted. My games are OK but when I burn files to a CD-RW disk they are now read only. So far I haven't been able to delete or change files on the CD-RW disk. The trouble is that with xp it can take a while before you find out all is not well.
