iexplore.exe is running in the background

June 24, 2010 at 14:14:02
Specs: Windows XP
it started around yesterday.
I tried to end the process and I scanned my computer with malwarebytes and avast at least a dozen times each.

also verclsid.exe and some other stuff that I forgot are also popping up even when I end the process.

they're reeeaaally annoying.
I spent hours trying to fix it, and I found something called hijackthis.

it said I had to post it on the forums, so here I go.

removed my log

oh, oops.

thanks jam, next time I'll know better.

I went through my hijack list and checked everything that had "internet explorer" in it. Maybe that might work.
rebooting my computer now.

Try to use Security Task Manager to check you system. Also using Windows Process Viewer you could see what folder iexplore.exe is loading from. If it is Internet Explorer file then it should load from C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\
