hello
i got a big problem. I have a panasonic nv-gs120 camcorder, when i connect it to my pc (firewire) then i hear that sound ding dong.. but i only hear the sound nothing else happens. i then go into my video editing software, but no device found(tried more than 1 program). There are no drivers for firewire on the camcorder cd.
i then though ok, ill deinstall the IEEE network adapter/driver and reinstall it.. but reinstalling doesnt work, it cant find the software for a 'NIC1394'. huge bummer, now when i plug the cam in nuthing happens... how do i get the driver working? why cant i see the cam in list of devices?
i wanted to reinstall windowsxp.. but cant way too much stuff to backup, witch sucks.
please help me, i have to get this working, thanx
fix it

if you can find the make of CHIPSET on the card you will most likely find the driver.
Have you installed SP2 and checked Windows Update to check wether or not they can offer a driver ?

the firewire is all onboard, the cd with drivers on if for the pc (complete pc) had no firewire drivers on it..the closest i found was usb
no havent tried sp2 yet.. could sp2 take my firewire out of the unknown device list?
ive searched everywhere but cant seem to find a standard IEEE1394 driver or the nic 1394..i assume NIC is part of the model name?
thanx so far for ur help
fix it
