IE8 Script window keeps popping up.

Specs: Windows XP, 256
I'm getting this do you want to debug this script window and it is driving me crazy.

I have gone in and clicked the disable script debugging IE and clicked the disable script debugging Other and I still get these popup windows.

I have noticed that we I go back in to check the settings, the "disable script debugging Other" is not checked and will not stay checked.
I do have VS 2008 installed but I don't think that is the problem.
Anyone know what to do here?

Thanks,
livnlif

livnlif, couple of thoughts. Just SWAGs, but... Have you rebooted? A lot of changes don't take effect otherwise.
A second thought is some kind of trojan/worm? Be aware that a virus and a Trojan are similar, but not the same. Many times, an AV detects one it can't clean, other times, it gets missed entirely.
If you need to clean one, Superantispyware can do the job and you can get it free @:
http://www.superantispyware.com/
among other places. They have a Vista compatible version if needed.
If it turns out that you need to use it, be sure to update prior to running and disable 'restore' (restart after cleaning) so it doesn't get put back. They just released a new update recently and it changes all the time. Things are in a constant state of flux.
The restore thing is critical. May not be your deal at all, but won't hurt anything to try.

or....
Go to IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and under Browsing deselect Display a notification about every script error and select Disable both Script debugging items there.

Come to find out, I had two IE windows and I would change one close out the window and try to re-open up another IE window and it would be changed. I'm guessing that the second window that I didn't notice was overriding the settings. Once I closed out ALL windows, it workd by clicking both script options as defined above.

Thanks,
