Can you try the following steps and see if it works for you.

1.) Launch IE
2.) Go to Tools --> Manage Add-Ons.
Here disable and delete all the Add-ons that are present.
3.) Tools->"Internet Options", In "General" tab, under "Browsing history" click "Delete"
4.) Now Go to "Advanced" tab in same pop-up window.
Unders "Settings" click "Restore advanced settings"
5.) Under "Reset Internet Explorer Settings", click "Reset..."
Now Check your IE8 if it works fine.

Please get back at your convinience, if the above steps didn't help you in resolving the same.

Thank you :)

Follow response 2
Then update your antivirus program and rescan. After that, download Malwarebytes and scan to double check for any nasties it may have missed.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

Hi, I had the same problem. AVGfree found SSHNAS21.DLL and Dfewea.exe (both Trojan horse cryptic.AMF). After they were removed, I restarted and the IE8 problem is gone. Hope this helps! Henk

Hi me again! The main culprit is sshnas21.dll. After deleting run regedit (be carefull) and find the key:
In it will be a string value called Halo2 containing:
rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\sshnas21.dll,GetMainWnd
If you don't delete this it will always try to start at run time.
How did I get this? Being naughty and trying to crack a program with a Keygen from site:

for info about sshnas21.dll
