Just updated to IE7 today and am still figuring out some of the new features. Is there any downfalls to IE7 compared to IE6 that anyone knows of? It seems to be working very well and one feature that really helps is the tabs. Any idea what the Feeds feature does though?

Wow Microsoft, almost EVERY improvement made to IE in 7 is identical features copied from Firefox. Things that Firefox has had for a couple of years. Go Figure!!! The one thing they don't have is adblock, until they find a way to copy that some 2 or 3 years from now. Adblock is not the only reason I use Firefox before IE, but it is by far the biggest.

what really puzzles me is the fact that MS is so quiet about the release of IE7 ... no big advertising campaign (we're the best, srew the rest! our browser is the safest!, etc. :-), nothing.

this full scale security emphasizing campaign will probably pounded on us with the release of vista because there are significatnt security related differences between ie7-vista and ie7-xp such as 'virtualization' and vista's administrator authentication (long known to linux users :-)

if you want this type of security it's still no reason to upgrade to vista:

1.: use a limited user account in windows xp

2.: depending on you system resources, use a 'disposable' virtual PC or a sandbox that allows you to run literally ANY application in a virtual environment to protect your 'real' pc.

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

Just wonder how many years of critical updates this version will create?
Think they would master the old version before they release a new version

well, stay away from it then. use an open source alternative with a pretty quick response time to known threads and a reputation of being by far safer than anything the ministry of love has ever rolled out yet :-)

don't rely on ms' perception of what is good for you (because you will only get what is good for them :-), get back in control and chose the browser that works the way YOU want.
