I normally run firefox but as netflix will not play movies there, I needed to reapply IE7
now I cant seem to get it to connect to my wireless router...all the tests I do show it should work, setups read the cable but will not connect??? Ideas as to what I missed?
my firefox is working fine...My 386 is faster than your 486...circa 1995

What do you mean "reapply IE7"?
Did you uninstal IE when you installed Firefox?
If so that was completely unnecessary.
How do you connect to Internet? Dialup, DSL, Cable? Or are you on a LAN behind a router?
The way forward depends on the answer.Goin' Fishin' (Some day)

Try: Tools > Internet Options > Connection tab > Lan Settings Button > Make sure "Automatically Detect settings " is checked.
Refresh!

You say you use Firefox, you should get the IETab addon for it...

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage
Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
It just does not "diplay" anything
I tried yahoo, google, computing.net,
its not getting thru???
per diag suggestions....This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.(im lost )
Wombat does IETab work for "netflix view now
movies" ...thats been my only reason for wanting IE back on my desktop...My 386 is faster than your 486...circa 1995

It works everywhere else you need IE 6/7 so I do not see why it will not work at Netflix.
Download it and give it a try...

I would suggest if you have your XP instal disk that you insert it and run SFC in Commandprompt.
The correct command is as follows:
sfc /scannow
Note the space between C and /That will at least repair any faults in your systemfiles.
