I've had this problem for weekk. If I click any link that pops up a new window or full screen it's blank with no URL entered. I have to manually copy and past the url from the original link.

Anyone know how to cure this very annoying glitch? I can;t reinstall IE6 and there is no "repair" option like in previous versions.

Thanks!!!

I'm having the exact same problem. I can't seem to find a solution for it either. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall IE, but it didn't work. I was thinking it may have something to do with the fact that I have AT&T @Home. I had to delete a variable in the registry to fix a proxy problem. However, I put it back, it didn't fix the pop-up problem, but I got the proxy problem back. Do you also have @Home?

I found the solution at microsoft.public.windowsxp.help and support Here it goes:

Go to Start/Run, and type:

REGSVR32 URLMON.DLL

Then open IE, Tools menu, Options, Program Tab, and click the "Reset Web
Settings" button.

It worked for me.

I just developed this problem after obtaining DSL from phone company. Sometimes windows would open, but mostly not. I just did as Brian suggested above, and now everything is fine ! thank you

The way I fixed this problem is by going to add/remove programs, and then running the repair function. Although this doesn't help me if your trying to achieve the same result on say 500 machines, after remotely installing ie6 with sms? Anyways, the repair does work!!!

Win2k, IE6.0 Full (had it recently)
Shortcut Links not working (Blank Screen / Subject Line)

Fixed...

First part, change the default in
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command]
to
"D:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome %1

second part fixed by deleting the following.. :)
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\ddeexec]

Seems to work good again.. :) ..nothing like playing havok in the registry.. ;)
