IE6SP1 won't , Netscape will.....

can anyone pls tell me why IE6SP1 used to access the net through a gateway lan, just stopped! Netscape accesses fine, so does all other net progs. Have done a repair on IE6SP1 in Add/remove, 2x, no change. Also a mystery...if z alarm is not on on gate comp. and IE6 is opened, it does "auto" multiple pages,(30+), won't stop opening pages, all failing. Any sug pls., was going like a boeing, no changes made, just went sour. Thanks.

Check the connection settings for IE (within the Tools | Internet Option menu). The connection settings may have been changed by some other program. Try using Auto Detect...
