Does anyone know how to prevent IE6.0 from loading the incorrect web page - for example I type in www.yahoo.com, but get www.lycos.com is loaded (always from a site I have previously visited). Tried erasing cache, flushing DNS and reinstalling IE, but problem eventually returns.

Thanks

Ok, now that is is just weird. I will have to get back to ya on that. In the mean time; and I realize this is a blind stab in the dark with a spork, but try a virus scan jjjuuuuusssttt in case.

Try running adaware and see if you have any spyware that is redirecting your explorer.

It is free....

thanks Matt and Robbie - I just had Trend PC-cillin scan my hard drive and came up clean. Adaware only came up with that Amazon file - alexa, which I did remove.

Unfortunately, same problem still exists - only happens after several hours of use with multiple IE windows open. My DSL support line had me use some DOS command to see if the web site name matches the numerical address. That also came back with no problems. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I'd hate to reboot every few hours or only work with 1 window.

Thanks again

Try going to

www.pcpitstop.com and run the full tests.

You can do it anonymously and maybe it will come up with something we missed in your settings .....

Good Luck
