IE6: javascript not working

Comment:
javascript is not working anymore, no reaction of the browser when clicking on a javascript navigation.
- scripting is activated - security is set to low - Norton Antivirus is disabled - sfc /scannow: no message - several dlls registered again: (urlmon, shdocvw, shell32, actxprxy, mshtml, browseui) - trying to reinstall IE6 failed: although I set "IsIstalled" to "0" in registry for IE6, the setup routine says: "Already installed".

I encountered this same problem. I backed up all of my important files and re-installed XP. The problem migrated to the help & Support as well as system restore. I think it happened after I installed Norton SW 2003 but who the hell knows.

I've had to download the sun java program from sun.com, the scripts don't work nearly as well as pre xp, but this is the only way i've come accross. the program runs seperately every time you access pages which require some sort of java scripting, still in an explorer window, but not controlled by ie itself by the spies of it!! hope this helps
