I've been concerned with the same issue. By trial and error, I found that you can clear history using the IE tools after restarting windows. It's a real pain, but it'll do the job until I find a better solution.

if you go to the internet options in the control panel, you will can close the win. explorer (what you can't do in the ie), some times, the ie don't delete all the history when its opened. so, try to clean your history in the internet options of the control panel (when you will do it, befor you cleen the history close the control panel). if it dont work, try to use some programe to do this (i use the norton system works "web quik cleen").

Hi,what I did was search for History folder and once you find it make a shortcut and put it on your desktop. Then you can delete history easier.I had to turn on hidden files so I could see them because my history was a hidden file and I found it under documents and settings/my name file/ local settings .On my computer I found a couple History folders and one was for IE 5 so make sure you find the right one. Good luck.

You can right click internet explorer icon on desktop and choose properties for the internet options when Internet Explorer is closed. I also had a problem once when I had history set to 0 days then I set it to 1 and all was well.
