OK, i have a computer that had a bit of spyware on it. I used MS Antispyware to remove about 40 items. After that IE WILL NOT browse, just says Cannot Find Server. I can still ping websites and get replies tho. Firefox just says "The connection was refused when attempting to connect to blah.com"

I have SP2 and the firewall IS turned off, and there is no third party firewall installed.

Any Suggestions?

Hi, I'm not an expert but my suggestion is to read this page:

http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

Losing internet access seems to be a common occurrance after running spyware removal programs these days.

Windows 98SE
HP Pavillion
Celeron 533MHz
HDD 10GB + 4GB
64MB RAM
Antiquated & Poor Quality
Runs like a dream.
