Comment:

is there any way to toggle "show pictures" inside the IE advanced settings with a shortcut or anything similar.

i very often need to switch this setting on or off and i am tired of having to go to the menu all the time.

the best would be a button or shortcut whcih i can place in the quicklaunch or tray.

any ideas? : )

Once the text on a web page gets loaded, I hit the ESC key. That stops continued loading of the
page, and the images.

That works good for my Dialup connection.

hi Chuck,
thanks a lot for the answer...
but in this case I really need the toggle button, because in this case the issue with the images is not inside IE and it's not because of a slow connection. the reason is another program which is using IE "resources". I need to turn off images when i am inside this program and right now i always need to go to IE to accomplish this.

I just wanted to keep the first post short and simple. that's why i didn't mention it earlier.

Doc, The "Web Accessories for Internet Explorer 5" download at the link below contains the "Image Toggler"
"Now you can turn off images for extra speed and turn them back on again even more quickly and easily. Simply look for Toggle Images in the Links bar and click it."

It states that it's only for IE5 but the "Image Togler" (Toggle Images.exe) also works with IE 6 but I'm not sure if it would work with IE 7.

If you try it it may be wise to create a new System Restore point prior to installing it.

PERFECT - this is exactly what I was looking for ! Thank you : )

For everyone who is interrested too....
install it>then go to your favorites>in the LINKS section you will find "Toggle Images.exe">you can "right drag" this exe to the desktop or place it in the quicklaunch.

works perfect and does exactly what you'd expect.
