IE won't stay up for more than a few seconds. I think it's version 6 (hard to tell when I can't leave it open). I double click the big blue 'e', the browser comes up, and after about 2 seconds it shuts down. Ever heard of this? Could it be a virus? Any recommended solutions?

1) do an IE repair/reinstall 2) check startup entries in registry(start - run and type 'regedit' and navigate to hkey_local_machine>software>microsoft>windows>current_version>run ... remove all unwanted items and reboot 3) Ensure that your machine is virus free and antivirus free(scan ur hardrives for both with the latest definition files) 4) Check for windows update from Tools - Windows Update in IE. Thanks, I did some research on the internet and found out that the google and yahoo search bars can cause this problem. I uninstalled it and then IE worked fine.
