Hi,
First time to ask a question here (don't know if it's good or not), but have always came here to learn about computer... I'm really really bad @ computers...
Anyway, recently my Internet Explorer 6.0 is acting weird. Everytime I open the IE, it kept on getting @ 'downloading site', but never 'opening the webpage' instantly just like before, and it kept @ 'downloading site' like it's frozen...
I've checked my icq and Outlook Express and confirmed that the internet works fine... I didn't change the homepage neither.. I've even reinstalled IE with my XP disk and the problem still exist...
I have to close IE and open IE back again like 10+ times to wait till the it can open webpages again right now...
Thanks in advance for your help!

Have your XP disk handy, then go to Start, Run. In the box, type:
sfc /scannow

Be sure to put a space before the slash.

You will be prompted to insert the XP CD. This should repair your IE.

Hope this helps.

Lisa

Have you installed Service Pack 1 for Internet Explorer?

Also, you might try downloading and installing these programs:

Ad-Aware
Spybot Search and Destroy
Spyware Blaster

These programs get rid of and\or prevent the installation of lots of junk programs that install themselves on your computer.

Also, have you deleted your temporary internet files and cookies lately?
