Not sure whether this has already been posted. Thought I'd pass it along (from BetaNews).Microsoft acknowledged Wednesday that a glitch in its patch intended to fix several security vulnerabilities within Internet Explorer may cause the browser to crash when visiting certain Web sites. According to the company, the issue occurs when running Internet Explorer 6 SP1 on either Windows XP or Windows 2000.
Microsoft also said that the bulletin would be re-released on August 22 along with a patch to correct the problem. The company has provided a hotfix in the meantime for affected customers to use until the new patch is ready.

The moral of this is ... turn off Automatic Windows Update and do it manually at least one or two weeks after MS deployed Windows Update patches traditionally on the second Tuesday of the month!

Good advice, XpUser! In fact, unless it's an absolutely critical update, waiting a full month is prudent.
How are things in NYC? Any of the old gang (Per, Hooner, et al) still around here at CN?
Recently moved from Tampa to Fort Myers. Now I'm even closer to those Caribbean-born hurricanes. 8-)
Sincerely, Solarian

Hey Solarian - long time no see. I'm really glad you've stopped by. Hope your new pad will never be in the eye of the "Perfect Storm" :-)
It's getting more expensive to live in NYC - we are thinking of moving out next year.
Some of the old timers (Per) comes every once in a while, others have moved on to another site that we have setup. Try Visit us there.
Speaking of M$ patch, it seems the people in Redmond are under pressure deciding on what's important and what's not to the security and stability of our Windows. You may find THIS article interesting.
I hope to see you around CN more often :-)
Best regards
