i have one of those utility that clean history,cookies once the browser is closed well before it was done i re-launched ie & began to browse suddenly ie closed and i've not been able to open ie fully since. it opens for 2 sec's then closes. i've tried everything from re-installing, sfc/scannow any1?

First, you could try System Restore and if that doen't do it then see here:

i tried the re-install thing at microsoft site but thanks for the help. anyways my laptop came pre-installed with with xp & 6 backup cdrom's so i guess ill use that but it seems stupid to to format for one thing so ill use opera and yes netscape for now meanwhile ill try to fix it or hope ie7 or something comes out so i can upgrade etc... thanks.. curio i thought the thing was done read more no pay attention is the key....
