Hi, I don't really know if this is an issue with MIME types but basically my problem is such:

If I have the url to an mp3/movie file (e.g. http://www.somesite.com/somemp3.mp3) and I enter it directly into the address bar of IE, it USED TO automatically and directly download itand automatically play it in WMP, which is how I like it (dont ask why).

Some time ago, I screwed up something and now when I go directly to a mp3/movie, it will open a blank browser window with an embedded quicktime object that will play the mp3/movie file.. which I hate.

I tried looking at the browser MIME settings in quicktime, and I told it not to deal with mp3 audio in browsers... but to no avail. What's the problem and how can I fix it to the way it used to be?

Thanks.

yn, SWAG, sounds to me like you need to alter your settings to use what you like best to open a movie filetype. Suspect yours has been changed sorta like highlacking a homepage.
