IE Large PageFile Usage

Specs: Windows XP Pro, 2.0ghz/1 gig

I tend to the technical needs of a small office setup for a tool and die business. Lately, everyone has been complaining that their email (webclient) has been loading very slow. All of these people have been using IE, and switching them to Firefox solved the problem. Today, someone complained of this and I looked at task manager, and the pagefile was flatlined at 2.06 GB, on a computer with 1.5 GB RAM. When I looked at what was using all of this virtual memory, IE showed as 1,760,000k. The strange thing is that a lot of people have been complaining about this lately, and the culprit is obiously IE. Any ideas as to what might be causing this?

malware/spyware. Look for keyboard loggers and root kits

That where I started. We have a resident Sophos antivirus, and I scanned them all with MBAM and S&D, nothing found. That wouldnt really explain it being only in IE too. I dont think thats the problem here.

I don't get how IE is a issue when you are running firefox. Appears users are still loading IE?

What version of IE?
All service packs uptodate?
Defragged/chkdsk /f the drive?

What are the stats if you come up in safe mode and run IE?
