Hi! I have recently had a problem and are still. I'm trying to get the destop IE original icon back after i had made a mistake and and clean it up with the destop clean up function. Does anyone know how i can get the icon back? Here are some of the things i tried
1. Reinstalling it using control panel=add/remove windows components.
2.System restoration. But no luck cause it ain't woking.
3.display properties=destop=costomized destop and check and uncheck IE.

I'm currently using a shoutcut.
But i'm despert for the icon to be back!
Anyone have any idea where i can get the original icon back from the destop clean up function?

THANK YOU!

Find the iexplore.exe file and right click and drag to the Desktop. Let go of the mouse button, tell it to create a short cut here.

Alex, Go to the link below and under the letter "I" scroll down to "Icons - Replace with Old Style" and you'll find the registry edit to accomplish what you want.

Hi Alex;
I don't know if this will help or not.
Check to see if it's set to show in Internet
Options.

Go to Internet Options in the Control Panel.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the Browsing section.
Make sure there is a check in the Show Internet Explorer on the desktop.
Click Apply.
Click OK.

Good luck.
