The problem may be due to web content being enabled on your desktop. Right click the desktop and click properties or go into display options and click on the desktop tab. Now at the bottom click the button that says customize desktop. In the window that pops up there should be a web tab at the top, click this and make sure there are no items in the box or that they are all unchecked.

Hope this helps

Matt
