I cant clear my history in IE. When i clear it and look in the history it is gone, but as soon as i close internet explorer and reopen it the history is back again. Does anybody know why it might not be deleting and could somebody please tell me what to do?? Thanks for the help.
By the way, i searched for spyware with Spybot search and destroy, Adaware, and Microsoft AntiSpyware. I even used the remove tracks tool in Microsoft Antispyware but the same thing happend. I searched for virus with Housecall (trendmicro.com) and i have norton security. My system is clean.
Thanks again!Ryan

I would suggest you try this little program called "ccleaner".
Go on the internet to google and type in ccleaner.Pick the one that says "file hippo"... it doesn't matter which one you pick, I just prefer using file hippo.
Run or save the program. Install it and use it. There is a button that says "run cleaner". Click on it, wait, and click on it again. Shut down, restart and run ccleaner again.
I think you will be amazed. I really like that program.
Trying running ccleaner in safe mode... that works great too.
When you are in safe mode, you will have to start ccleaner from the "program files" folder

Or just go to the history folder and delete everything in there. C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\History

That is not normal behavior for IE. As such, I suspect you are using some type of Internet Optimization program that is caching your sites for you. One that features: "Loads five times faster!!!"
Any you can think of?Regards,
Bryan

domass i have tried what u said, and it still reappears, and no Bryan i have never installed or used any internet optimizers(I dont beleive they actually work). Umm i will try that ccleaner asap. I will post back soon. Thanks for the help

Okay i ran CCleaner and it cleaned everything succesfully and it did not reappear. So thanks for all the help you guys.

I'm having this same problem. You click clear history and it removes all the URLs from the Address bar, but the history is still as was. I help a guy out with problems he's having with his computer and his does the same. Is this something to do with SP2 or what? I got the impression that this was more common than it appears to be. I know i can use other programs to clear the history, or delete it manually, but IE shouldn't be behaving like this.
