My sister's computer is having trouble logging into websites. I've tried using IE7 and a portable copy of Firefox 2 but whenever we would connect to a certain site (facebook, myspace, yahoo, etc.) we would get to the site fine then when we would log into the site using a valid username and password, the site would say can't connect. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I've already trying the Winsock utility, i've tried powercycling the cable modem, router and her computer. I've also un and reinstalled IE 7 figuring there may be file or two that could be put back in. I even went as far as using System Restore to go back to November when the last time the computer was fully working, to solve the problem but nothing as of yet. I was wondering if anyone had an alternate solution? I'm not paying microsoft 60 bucks for an email or contacting dell which is worthless.
