|Unless anyone comes up with a simpler solution you could re-install IE8. Go here and Save the File somewhere (rather than running it). Double click the file to install. It will remove your existing browser then clean install IE8, retaining all your settings, Favorites etc. You have to wait a while for it to setup after it tells you to reboot, so be patient if you go this way.|
IE Repair is another option but it loses a lot of your personal settings. When I used it everything got messed about and it didn't fix the problem anyway, whereas the re-install did.
