Comment:

I have a system with 3 user accounts. On one of the accounts, IE crashes fairly regularly with the proverbial Send/Don't Send dialog box. The other users never have a problem.

I've run AdAware, SpyBot and a few other products to clean the machine of adware and spyware. I've deleted the cookies, history and temp internet files for this user.

Anything else I can clean up that might help stop IE from crashing for this one user?

Thanks!

delete user (select 'keep files' when prompted - you will have a folder with all documents and settings on the desktop of your actual account) and create a new account.

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'

You could try removing IE in add remove programs > Add remove windows components.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I looked at "Add/Remove Windows Components" and for IE it says the size is 0.0 MB. The description is "Adds or Removes access to Internet Explorer from the Start Menu and Desktop."

I don't think you can actually remove IE from Windows, it's part of the OS isn't it?

I think I'll try the "delete user" method.

Go to the Control Panel and open the Add Remove Programs. Look for any Active X control programs and remove them.
