Hello there,
I am usually able to solve PC problems by myself with experience but this one has me very puzzled. Every time I open up a powerpoint show attachment with internet explorer, it opens it but ie automatically closes. Very strange. I performed antivirus and spyware scans and my PC is totally clean. What could force this browser to shut down ONLY with these PPS attachments? This happens when I click on the link and choose Open instead of Save. However, when I save to my desktop and then open it, ie stays open.

Correct me if I am wrong but you can't open power point slide shows in IE can you? You need power point or the free power point viewer to see them, that's what I have known all these years.
God knew I couldn't be a pioneer, that's why he gave me a computer!

Yes Mary I do have MS Powerpoint 2003 installed and I can open presentations normally when I click on them. My problem is somewhat more complicated. When I'm on the Web and I click on a presentation to download it and view it, I get to choose Open or Save like everybody else. Then, when I choose to Open it, it does so with Powerpoint BUT Internet Explorer suddenly closes. I have no idea why, this never happened before.
