This has to be simple but its really bugging me. I recently installed IE 8, (bit of a rip to firefox but thats another story). anyway could not find history anywhere until i click onto the little arrow next to back page and there at the end was a link to history. When i click on it, it brought up my history (day week etc) as a column on the left (pretty standard right?) however now everytime I click on the star favorites I get my history and not my favorites???. I can still get there using the favorite tab on the next row up but thats not the point. SO how do I get the the favorites tab to show my favorites and not history,.

many thanks to those who know,

cris

crisrg1, I've got IE7, but I would think they are the same. If you click the star icon below the file menu, a window will appear with your favorites/history, at the top of this window is three buttons labelled "favorites", "feeds", "history". If you select one of these buttons the relevent item will appear in the main window. IE remembers your last selected option. So to change it back click the star then click the favorites button.

I really hope I'm not wrong on this and would appreciate you letting me know if this works for you.

HI thanks for quick reply dave, unfornunately I do not get the three buttons labeled histry, feeds etc when i click on star under file, its a shame you can't add screen shots as then i could shoe you, when you hit the star it comes up with an add to favorites button with history underneigh. what you said makes sense but it looks like MS has changed things, definately using IE8, thanks again, cris

crisrg1, I've just installed IE8. When I start IE up I get this.

When I click the star in the top left labeled favorites i get this.

I can also get favorites from the menu bar
<view>
<explorer bars>
<favorites>.

I can also press

<ctrl><shift><i>
to get favorites.

If you want to post a screen shot goto ImageShack.
