IE 8 with XP - Error message - Add on

I have IE 8 with XP. Suddenly I am getting the message "Internet Explorer is currently running without add-ons" I've tried everything your previous readers have suggested. Nothing works. When I go into "Manage Add-Ons", I have a ton of stuff in there. What am I clicking on to disable? JIM
