Hello,
I have a generic pc that is 5 years old and works fine; however, IE will not load. When I lauch IE it gives me page can't be display error. I had this problem since Oct of 2006. I was using IE6 which worked fine before. I thought it might be bad dll b/c system tray said I was missing .dll file. I installed the dll and still not work. I only use IE to watch streaming media and windows update. Since, IE can't open webpage; I can't update windows. My default broswer is Firefox, but Firefox doesn't play streaming media that used windows media player. Last night I upgrade to windows media ver.11 and installed I.E.7 hoping it will resolve the problem. I used System Mechanic to unistalled I.E 6. Removing all the files relate to I.E 6. I.E. 7 could not load a webpage. It displyed page can't be displayed. I also installed Opera 9.10 to see wheter it played streaming media. Opera opened the webpage, but would not play streaming media. When I tried to click vod file Opera can't open streaming media. I have a Zonealarm and I.E. 7 is set to super trusted setting. I also have wireless home network. Netgear wireless router and my pc is connect by wire since it is the host computer for my wireless network. Is it possible my router is the culprit? Netscape was able to play streaming media, but it took long time to open and all the security setting was hassle. When I opened the Opera it also displayed the error message saying error in CSS. I don't thinkg rolling back to I.E 6 will not help b/c I.E 6 had a same problem of not loading webpage. What should I do?
I hope to hear from you guys ASAP and appericate all your insights. Furthermore, advice I received last time solved problems for my sister's laptop and saved precious dollars.
Thanks again and have nice day.
