Hello everyone, l've gotten two easy questions that l would appreciate your help with.

The first question:
Is there a way to "turn off" the security alert that says:
-------------------
This page contains secure and nonsecure items.
Do you want to display the nonsecure items?
[Yes] [No] [More Info]
-----------------
Here's a screen capture of the alert l'm talking about; http://www.tdtcoalition.net/test/help/SSL.jpg
I want to shut the alert down, so that [yes] is automatically choosen... Is it possible, if so how?

Second Question:
For some *STRANGE* reason whenever l try to access some pages (even pages of my own website that l know exist) I get redirected to some kind of lycos search engine: http://search.lycos.com/default.asp?src=clear2&loc=top50&query=tdt+coal+it+ion

Now ^that^ is truly annoying, how do l find and turn that function off?

After poking around on the "lycos side search" FAQs list l found this:
----
How do I remove or uninstall Lycos Sidesearch?

Answer
To uninstall Sidesearch, please go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. Highlight “Lycos Sidesearch” and click on “Change/Remove”.
----

However this mysterious "lycos side search" *isn't* on my add/remove programs list.
Please help this is driving me bonkers, lol.

Thank you for your time and your help,
Samantha Fox

In IE go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Tab and scroll down to Security and uncheck the Use SSL2 & the Use SSL3 options and see if this works for the security alert. If not try unchecking any other security options you have checked in the Advanced section.

Try this for the removal of 'Lycos Side Search':

http://www.spysweeper.com/lycos-sidesearch-uninstall.html

Alternatively type 'Remove Lycos Side search' into Google.

Just wondering, are you Samantha Fox, the singer? I remember that name somewhere.....I think she was a singer, a few years ago.

Hmm.. Unfortunetly this just disables the SSL all together, and prevents me from viewing the pages with both secure, and non-secure items. Not exactly what l want to do, I still want to use the web page(s), just bypass the annoying alert. If it's at all possible.

I've got the spy-sweeper program running now, and l can already see that it's found the "lycos sidesearch", hopefully it will be removed. Problem is that there are no traces of it. Like l said it's not on my add/remove programs list, and there's also no "lycos" folder in my c:/program files, folder. I will post back after the sweeper is done doing it's thing, and let you know if it took or not.
