Hi all.

I'm running Windows XP professional at home here on a P-III 550 MHz, with 512 MB RAM.

I'd like to change my e-mail default settings, but the only option I.E. has is Microsoft Outlook. There are no other options in the drop down box. I'd like either HoTMaiL or Yahoo to be my default e-mail program. I've looked a few places in the control panel, there is one place under the "Add / Remove programs" called "Set Program Access and Defaults." But it doesn't say how to change anything. I've alos tried the Tools-->Internet Options-->Programs route with no luck. Any suggestions?.

Well...you use your Internet browser to receive e-mail for yahoo and hotmail account, so it doesn't ahve anything to do with Outlook Express. Since you go on the internet to get your e-mail, there is not exactly a program for HTTP mail server (ie Yahoo and Hotmail).

You can actually receive your Hotmail from Outlook Express by going to Tools-->Accounts-->click on the mail tab and add account.

Hope this helps!

Not that it matters, but my e-mail options are "Outlook" and "MSN Explorer." I've used OE before and I hope Outlook is like OE, as I'll set it up this evening.
