Tech info:
Windows XP Pro SP1 (all updates)
P4 1.8GHz 256MB
Internet Explorer SP1 (all updates)For some reason my internet explorer address bar is playing up!
Yesterday, I could type into my address bar "shoes" and it would automatically do and internet search for "shoes".
Yesterday, I could also do a search for "shoes" by using a prefix created in "TweakUI for Windows XP" by typing "goo shoes" into the address bar and it would search for shoes at Google.
However, today if I type "shoes" and "goo shoes" into the address bar it changes to "http:///?%20shoes" and "http:///?%20goo%20shoes"!!!!
Basically except for internet and file addresses it adds a forward slash and a space "/ " to the front of what is typed in the address bar and ignores the search prefixes.
I haven't knowingly changed any settings to make this happen and I have tried reinstalling IE by going through the registry and changing the value of "IsInstalled" from 1 to 0 as described under method 2 here: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378 but the problem still exists.
Can anyone please help me?
Thanks
Isaac

Sounds like a tweakui problem. Thats why I never mess with "tweaking" software. If it goes out or problems arise your screwed

Thanks for the idea but I don't think it's the tweaking utility because it's one of the windows xp powertoys from the official microsoft website. Also I haven't touched it for months now.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
Isaac
