My computer was upgraded to IE 7... but needed to be downgraded to IE 6.

For the most part IE 6 works okay... just won't allow any pop up windows at all. Even if they are the correct to appear.

There is no pop up blocker showing in Add/Remove programs.

How do I get IE 6 working so that pop up windows are allowed.

Thank You

control panel > internet options > privacy tab and at the bottom of the windows you can either uncheck the pop-up blocker (I don't recommend) or click the settings button and then copy and paste the website that you wish to allow pop-ups to show in the add box and add them to the allowabe list.

In IE 6, Tools, Pop-Up Blocker, Turn Off Pop-Up Blocker. Also make sure you're not using any other Toolbar (Yahoo) that contains a pop-up blocker.

thank you both for your answers... I am working in an environment that the "settings" button and the "popup" check box are greyed out. I am on the IT support team, but am not able to change the settings even in the Administrator login. I am working with an End User that upgraded IE to 7, without permission and was subsequently down graded to IE 6. Now, many of the intranet pages will not appear as they are coded to be pop-ups. Any other suggestions?? How to successfully uninstall IE 6 and all the Registry entries and then successfully reinstall it??

Won't work. IE in integrated into Windows. Sounds like there are GPOs in effect. You'd need to talk to the Domain Admin.

'Integrated' is a debatable term but yes, the above poster is probably right.

Medion MIM 2080
Toshiba T2130CT
Macintosh Performa 450

All working wonderfully.
