Suddenly I am getting more and more websites that are giving me the little triangle in the bottom left part of the web page showing errors ...mostly objects not being displayed. The page carries on loading in the load bar even though the page looks ok it hardly ever says 'done'. Then when I try and click on things they often dont function correctly. A couple of websites pull downs dont work the page refreshes for example. Its getting to be too many to say its always the websites scripting fault. I have done all the obvious..window fixes, updates, cleared caches, temps, java, upadated flash, java , defragged even re registered some dlls as advised by miscrosoft. Still I am getting these increasing errors which are very annoying. Can anyone put their finger on whats going on please? I have checked for viruses and spyware...nothing major going on there just a bit of spyware now and again.
I cant repair IE6 as its not in control panel ( I have service pack 2). I tried updating to IE 7 but kept getting error messages about it not installing properly. I have firefox but its sooo slow!!!
Thanks

Hello,
I would try downloading IE 7 from Microsoft Download Center in EXE Format instead of using Windows Updates. When your running the exe, check "Dont look for Updates now". Windows Updates will download them later. IE7 dose take along time to install. If you want to try to fix IE6 try these steps. Go to start, control panel, Internet Options then look for something that will delete Browsing History. I'm using IE7 so I dont know where it would be on yours. Mine is under Browsing Histroy and it says Delete. Clear everything you can. This will not delete downlaoded files on your computer. The other thing I would try is this, Unplug your router and put your finger on the coaxial cable. I dont know if this is true, but someone told us they get static on the line. We have Satellite. I hope this helps!

Hi and thanks
I have deleted browsing history. I have also tried the .exe as opposed to updates but the machine I am having the problem with is a laptop running off the main pc downstairs...the pc works fine. Maybe you could have something there...will take a look. We have satellite.
Thanks

Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced, Tick > Disable script debugging.
Untick > Display a notification about every script error.

http://www.sureshotsoftware.com/art...Windows XP comes with Internet Explorer 6. Microsoft has made IE part of the core operating system. If you think IE is screwed up, and want to repair it, you must use the sfc command:
Start > Run, copy & paste > Sfc /scannow & press Enter.
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc...
This will scan and restore protected system files ( which IE is )

Hi sorry for late response.
I already done all of the above. Any more suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks again

Ok, I see you have SP2, spread your writing out please with sentences.
"I cant repair IE6 as its not in control panel"
That's why I posted how to repair. Are your security settings on default?
Do you have a program that is guarding against hijacking?
Have a look at your security settings to see what is in Restricted.
