i have problems with cdrw drive not reading very well at the moment and was wondering if it should have ultra dma in the IDE advanced settings. it has p10 mode at moment and also has option for "DMA if available" but this doesnt seem to be available for some reason. i seem to remember that at one time it had multi-word dma, but not any longer.
so i guess really what i want to know is, what is the best mode to have for a cdrom/cdrw ? and how do the different modes differ in the performance of the drives?

Summary: well i have an ide cdrom and a scsi cdrw and when i boot from cdrom it goes to the scsi.. so i cant tell u which one it will want to use... but hey... unplug one of the cdroms and then try it again......
