IDE Drives..?

CPU/Ram: p4 3ghz/768MB DDR 400

Hi, i have problem with my IDE drives, win XP pro (SP2) does not detect the IDE drives..i have a CD-R and a DVD-Rom, but windows recognize only the CD-R! any help...?

Has this suddenly happened or have you just changed the installation? Are both drives recognised in the BIOS and at boot up? Have you tried swapping them around onto different channels?

Yesterday everything was wrong..NO IDE DRIVES! but when i turn off pc and the morning turn on the IDE drives are back! :) do not know...???

this is not a XP issue but a hardware one. Make sure all the ide cables are secured and so are the power to drive cables. Otherwise you may have a mainboard problem
