I have a problem. I am planning on buying a new DVD drive. So I opened up my computer to see if it could allow the expansion. I encounteres two problems. One is that there are no more free IDE controller ports on the motherboard. I had three. One for CD-ROM drive, the other for 3 1/2 floppy drive, and the other for a removable har drive. I already found out how to fix this problem by using a dual IDE cable so tha I will be able to hook up CD-ROM drive and DVD drive to one IDE controller port on the motherboard. The second problem though is that I dont have any more audio ports on the sound card left. The only one I had left id taken up by my CD-ROM drive. What I want to know is if I wouldn't need to hook it up to the audio port since I'm sharing and IDE cable with the CD-ROM drive which is hooked up to the audio port on the sound card or is if I can purchase a dual audio controller cable to share between drives. If I can purchase please specify where.

Thank You

If you are using Windows XP, it is not necessary to hook up the audio cable to hear music from an audio CD. XP reads the CD's digitally, which means it can play them regardless of whether the audio cable is hooked up or not.
