I'm using ICS to share a broadband connection between 3 computers (WIN XP) in a home network (LAN). Everything seems to work great but there are some websites that only will load on the host computer, not the clients. When I try to ping these sites form the clients I get "Recuest timed out". What is wrong?

I had the exact same problem. I think it's a bug or something in XP's ICS because it didn't do this with Win98. In order to fix the problem I downloaded RASPPPOE and used that protocal instead of the one that comes with Windows.
Get it at http://user.cs.tu-berlin.de/~normanb/
After you install that and set it up, you should be able to go to any site on the client computers.

Hi:
Today is the end of your ICS worries.
I HAD the same problem.
Go to http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article04-107
and find the solution.
The problem lies in a registry key ("MTU") which is set by default to 1500 (decimal).
This is Ok for the computer that connects directly to the Internet but it is too high for the "slave" PC's.
The article tells you how to calculate this MTU and enter it into the register.
I use 1450.
Regards,
Carlos (from Argentina)
